The Split Rock Lighthouse was completed in 1910 on the North Shore of Lake Superior and has become a symbol of the North Shore and Minnesota.

After visiting the lighthouse in the summer of 2023 and seeing the LEGO model they had on display, I decided to build my own version.  I felt that I could create a better cersion.  As an added bonus, I was able to use many of my old, crusty LEGOs from the 1970s as fill for the jagged rocky cliff.

I tried to donate my model to the Minnesota Historical Society, but unfortunately, they never returned my email.  Post script - I'm working with the light house keeper from Aplit Rock to get it displayed at the state park museum.
