Gluek's Bar opened in its current location in 1902.  It was originally established by the brewer Gottlieb Gluek.  After Prohibition, the bar was sold and reopened as Fransen's.  In the 1970s, it was renamed Gluek's once again.

In 1989, the building was destroyed by fire, but fortunately, it was rebuilt just in time for me to start hanging out there in the early 1990s. Gluek's is conveniently located just down the street from the Plaza VII Building, which was the original home of Arthur Andersen and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), where I began my career.

The LEGO model of the bar is very intricate, reflecting the detailed design of its facade.
